The Hawkeyes Rugby Academy is a new American-based program that works in conjunction with the International rugby organization "Celtic Barbarians RFC". The Hawkeyes Rugby Academy will identify talented coaches, players and referees, so that we can support their training and travel to top events worldwide, while following the pathway guidance of USA Rugby. Having our American brand operating along with the Celtic Barbarians, will allow us to benefit from the 54 tours and 13 years of experience the Barbarians have built globally. Both programs will share players and staff to remain competitive at our main events. December 2021 was an exciting month with our first Hawkeyes event seeing the U16 Boys select 15s tour to Dubai during the World Rugby 7s event. This was immediately followed by our first Hawkeyes HS Girls 7s camp held in Boise, Idaho with guest coaches Eagles 7s Captain Abby Gustaitis and Canada 7s star Delaney Aikens. This camp spawned Hawkeye's first tournament victory, winning the Girls U18 Open Division at the 2022 Tropical 7's.
